Coventry Rugby is thrilled to announce the re-signing of fullback Tobi Wilson, ahead of the 2023/24 season.

Tobi joined the club earlier this campaign from Worcester Warriors in similar fashion to the likes of Will Chudley, who has also put pen to paper on a new deal here at Butts Park Arena.

The fullback played his formative club rugby for Newport in Shropshire, before progressing into the Senior Academy at Worcester Warriors. During that time, he featured for England’s under-18s development training squad, and was a regular for Warriors’ 18s.

Wilson’s first competitive appearance for Worcester came at the end of 2021 against Gloucester, and, more recently, the fullback received valuable game time for Birmingham Moseley in National League 1.

Tobi wasted no time in making a lasting impression on the Butts Park faithful as he scored a memorable try on Coventry debut against Doncaster Knights back in February.

“I’m very grateful of Coventry giving me a chance this season with Worcester going under. I’m thrilled to be signing on for a full season on the back of a very impressive season from the lads. I’m very excited to see what we can do as a team next season!” – Wilson said.

Alex Rae is excited to see the youngster continue to develop in Blue and White; “Its great to get Tobi on board again. He’s fitted in really well since he arrived, he’s shown glimpses of his potential and has some serious X-factor. In training he’s making really pleasing strides and we’re confident if he applies himself, he’ll do really well.”

Everyone at Coventry Rugby is excited to see what this young talent can achieve at the BPA!
