Alex Rae has named his side to face Cornish Pirates in the Championship round 6 clash at Butts Park Arena on Saturday 22nd October.

The squad has a similar feel to that which was victorious against London Scottish nearly a fortnight ago, but also bears some fresh faces and a long-awaited return from injury.

Starting with the front row, and it’s as we were. Toby Trinder starts as captain once more, accompanied by Suva Ma’asi at hooker – fresh from his hat-trick in the capital, and Harry Seward in the number 3 jersey.

James Tyas starts in the second row once again, and this week, is joined by Fred Betteridge who shifts to lock from the back row.

The back row brings a strong sense of excitement as new lad, Tom Dodd, makes his debut at number 6, accompanied by Josh Bainbridge on the opposite flank, with in-form Senitiki Nayalo at number 8.

A second debutant starts at scrum-half in the form of Will Chudley. Chudley will be looking to bring his wealth of experience to this young side, and link up with fellow half-back, Pat Pellegrini, who starts at 10.

Ollie Betteridge shifts back to inside centre, and will find Will Rigg outside him in the 13 channel. Rigg will be hoping to continue where he left off two weeks ago following a scorcher of a try against Scottish.

The starting XV is completed with a back 3 that is filled to the brim with pace. Shea Cornish starts for the first time since his disciplinary , and is mirrored by Will Talbot-Davies on the opposite wing. The steady Louis Brown will start at full-back to complete the back 3 and the starting side to face the Cornish.

Adam Peters makes a welcomed return to the playing squad, having completed his rehabilitation from a knee injury he picked up in our final pre-season match against Bath. Adam is joined by fellow forwards Ollie Stone, Ollie Andrews, Jake Bridges and Tom Ball on the list of replacements. Options to come on in the backs come in the shape of Will Lane, Evan Mitchell and James Martin.
