Cov’s visitors were made very welcome at Sherbourne Fields

A big group of Cov’s senior squad this week spent an afternoon at community partner Sherbourne Fields School to spread some Christmas love, have some fun and help out with classes.

Activities included rambling, indoor hockey, archery and soft play, before the players faced a Q+A session and joined in with general class room activities.

Four members of Cov’s community team are regular visitors to Sherbourne, and according to Community Manager Ben Gulliver their colleagues really enjoyed gaining first-hand experience of what goes on there day-to-day.

“We have a very close relationship with Sherbourne where we deliver around 40 hours per week of provision,” he said.

“It’s something not many people know about and we are very proud of.  Sam McNulty, Rob Knox, Kwaku Aseido and Will Flinn deserve particular praise for the amazing work they do on a daily basis.

“It was great for more of the squad  to witness what goes on at Sherbourne Fields, and everyone had a tremendously enjoyable afternoon.

“It’s a partnership that is truly inspiring and I would personally like to thank head teacher Shivaun and the rest of the Sherbourne  staff  for allowing us to help at their truly special school.

“And of course on behalf of everyone at Cov, we wish all the kids, families and staff a very merry Christmas!”
