Coventry Rugby has announced its squad for the second Championship Cup fixture of the 2022/23 season, against Bedford Blues on Friday 11th November.
Following last week’s slow start to the cup campaign against Doncaster Knights, Alex Rae’s 23-man squad will be looking to bounce back away from home at the Goldington Road ground.
Friday’s captain, Toby Trinder, is joined in the front row by the in-form Suva Ma’asi and Ollie Andrews, whilst James Tyas packs down next to Adam Peters in the engine room.
Tom Ball starts at openside flanker, with Josh Bainbridge (7) and Fred Betteridge (8) filling out the rest of the back row.
Will Chudley links up with Pat Pellegrini in the half-back pairing, whilst Ollie Betteridge starts at inside centre, and finds Will Rigg outside him in the 13 channel.
Shea Cornish (11), James Martin (14) and Louis Brown, at fullback, make up an exciting backfield trio brimmed full of pace, and round out the starting XV.
Three front row substitutes will look to add power from the bench in the form of Callum Burns, Danny Southworth and Kieran Verden, whilst George Smith and Frankie Read conclude the forward replacements.
The dynamic Fin Ogden and Evan Mitchell will look to add some creative spark to the half-back positions from the bench, with the versatile Will Wand providing cover in the centres and on the wing.
