Job Title: Marketing Executive 

ABOUT US

To coincide with the significant growth and success at Coventry Rugby – An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Marketing Executive to join our Commercial team at Coventry Rugby and implement a new growth strategy. The role provides a fantastic opportunity to grow and start a career within an elite sporting environment and established Corporate Event business, within a dynamic, driven, and engaging sector. 

This role has a broad remit with plenty of scope to have real impact across inbound and outbound marketing through both traditional and digital channels. The successful candidate will join a great team and drive growth in the organisation, as well as gaining plenty of personal development.

Key Responsibilities:

Assisting with the Club’s digital marketing communications, including the creation and distribution of emails  

Support the growth of incremental sales across departments including Corporate Events & hospitality along with ticketing through digital & fan engagement activities 

Bring new ideas, both through competitor and industry analysis 

Data extractions for Email/SMS campaigns 

Campaign reporting and evaluation on campaign effectiveness and return on investment 

Data analyses of ticket & product sales for home games and reporting to product managers 

Work with the Communications and Events team to ensure that key marketing messaging is being delivered across all touchpoints 

Assist with achieving and exceeding a best in class digital fan experience for supporters via Social Media and Content Creation

Assist with the delivery of national fan engagement 

Any other duties appropriate to the skills and experience of the position holder

Cover all Coventry Rugby Match Days – both home and away with Social Media Prescence 

Abilities/Skills/Knowledge: 

• Excellent knowledge of marketing techniques and principles

• Good understanding of market research techniques, statistical and data analysis methods • Excellent knowledge/qualification of using MS Office and marketing software (e.g. CRM) 

• Thorough understanding of social media and web analytics 

• Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities 

• Creativity and commercial awareness 

• A team player with a customer-oriented approach 

• BSc/BA in marketing, business administration or relevant field 

• Professional, hands on experience in analysing large volumes of data, segmentation and reporting in a commercial environment 

• A sound understanding of key marketing functions (Essential) 

• Excellent writing skills with an eye for detail (Essential) 

• Good computing skills, including some experience of Excel (Essential) 

• Experience of working with data (Essential) 

• Competent and personable with good time management skills 

• Ability to work well as a member of a team and as an individual 

• Ability to work calmly under pressure 

• Experience in customer relations/understanding of what good customer relations is (Essential) 

• A self-starter, proactive in finding solutions to issues big or small (Essential) 

• Excellent communicator with a positive, collaborative and flexible style (Essential) 

• Proactively takes on new responsibilities and seek out opportunities to learn new skills (Essential) 

• Must have the ability to make quick decisions in a fast paced environment, if required (Essential) 

• Must be accountable for delivering results within assigned levels of accountability (Essential) 

• Have a good understanding of the Rugby environment (Preferred)

DIGITAL MEDIA CONTENT INTERN

This is an exciting voluntary opportunity for a creative individual to help elevate Coventry Rugby’s content output across all online platforms, engaging both new and existing followers.

Ideal for someone with a creative flair and a passion for creating video and photo content. The ideal person will have good technical knowledge, as well as a keen eye for features that will inspire fans and sponsors to support the club by:

  • Filming and editing high-quality features and interviews for the Club’s digital platforms.
  • Gathering behind-the-scenes footage and identify unique, engaging content opportunities.
  • Work in conjunction with Coventry Rugby’s Press Officer to design and launch new copy.
  • Writing and designing copy for website / social media posts and captions.
  • Moderating social media channels during the week and match-days.
  • Responding to customer feedback and maintaining communications online.
  • Creating social media campaigns to increase engagement and target new audiences.
  • Creating graphic and visual content for dissemination on social media pages.
  • Carrying out research for team projects, trends and news stories.
  • Sharing related content from partners and organisations with their social media audience
  • Analysing social media numbers regularly.
