Coventry Rugby is thrilled to announce the re-signing of Will Rigg, ahead of the 2023/24 season.
Rigg arrived at the Butts Park Arena in the summer of 2022, having previously been plying his trade for Cardiff Met University in the BUCS league as well as for England Students.
Since making his debut for Cov, Rigg has quickly become an integral part of Alex Rae’s young side, putting in many memorable performances already in a Blue and White shirt; with his recent hat- trick against Caldy being a particular highlight.
Speaking about his decision to re-sign with the club, Rigg said “Firstly, I’d just like to say how happy I am to have re-signed here at Coventry. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my first year, and now we’re looking to keep the momentum going that we’ve created within the group.”
“It’s a really professional environment here, and the coaching staff challenge us every day to get better. The club looks after the person as well as the player, and that’s been huge for my development and made the decision to stay at Coventry a very easy one.”
Head Coach Alex Rae is one of many who is pleased the centre has put pen to paper on a new deal; “Will has been fantastic for us since he arrived from university. He’s hungry to become better every single day and is a really good bloke around the place too. He’s been playing some great rugby and is only going to continue to get better and better so we’re pleased to have him staying with us.”
Everyone at Coventry Rugby is exciting to see more of Will in the Blue and White this season, and beyond!
