Will Lane Re-signs!

Coventry Rugby is thrilled to announce the re-signing of Will Lane, ahead of the 2023/24 season.

Lane arrived at Butts Park in the Summer of 2022, having previously spent time at fellow Championship club Jersey Reds as well as Loughborough University in the BUCS league. Since making his debut for Cov, the scrum-half has steadily cemented his place in Alex Rae’s squad, popping up with several important tries this season.

Speaking about his decision to re-sign with the club, Lane said “I’m so grateful to have been given the opportunity to re-sign here at Cov. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this season both on and off the pitch and I feel the environment that both the players and staff have created has really helped me develop and grow both as a player and a person. 

We’ve still got some important games to come to close out the 22/23 season, but to say I’m excited for next season would be an understatement!”

Head Coach Alex Rae is looking forward to seeing the scrum-half further develop at Butts Park; “It’s great to have Will on board again. His game has shown huge growth and that’s credit to his hard work and the environment he’s now in. Being around Chudders (Will Chudley) daily is only going to help that. Will has really bought into everything we do here, and they’re the people we want.”
