Coventry Rugby has announced that Toby Trinder has signed a full contract with the club.
Trinder is a familiar face at Butts Park Arena having been dual-registered with Cov during the 2019/20 season. The 22-year-old loosehead came through the Northampton Saints Academy system to represent England Under-20s – working with the now-Coventry Rugby Attack Coach Anthony Allen – and play for the Saints first team.
He impressed during his 17 appearances for Coventry last term and Director of Rugby Rowland Winter is excited to bring Trinder to the club.
“Toby is an excellent young prospect, and exactly the profile of player we are looking to add to the team. He is talented, he has the hunger and desire to improve and we know that he will be able to take big steps forwards in his development as a Cov player,” Winter commented.
“I’m delighted that he’s agreed to join us and we’re looking forward to working with him as a Cov player next season.”
Trinder says that it was an easy decision to join Coventry on a full-time basis.
“I really enjoyed playing for Cov last season,” he commented. “There is a good squad, with outstanding fans and overall Cov is one of the best set-ups in the Championship. I’m looking forward to working with the coaches and players and helping the club progress.”
