Coventry Rugby can confirm that Sam Maunder was shown a 20-minute red card for a dangerous tackle, contrary to World Rugby Law 9.13, during the match against Bedford Blues on Saturday, 11 October.

Following an independent disciplinary hearing chaired by Charles Cuthbert, with panel members Guy Lovgreen and Inigo Churchill, it has been determined that Maunder will serve a three-match suspension. This sanction will be reduced to two matches if he successfully completes the World Rugby Coaching Intervention Programme (CIP).

The fixtures covered by the suspension are as follows:
• 18/10/25 – v Chinnor RFC
• 25/10/25 – v Ealing Trailfinders
• 01/11/25 – v Richmond Rugby*

*Sam Maunder will be eligible to return for this fixture should he successfully complete the CIP.
