Coventry Rugby is committed to creating high-level rugby and academic opportunities, particularly for players from state school or non-traditional rugby backgrounds. Over 75% of our academy players are educated outside the independent school system.
We work exclusively with The Futures Trust and Three Spires Trust to offer state-educated players outstanding access to sixth form education (BTEC or A Level) alongside an integrated rugby timetable. Players receive over 12 hours per week of rugby development, built directly into their academic schedule and delivered by our high-performance coaching staff.
St Regis CofE School (Shropshire / West Midlands)
St Regis is our exclusive state school partner in this region, offering a unique blend of academic and rugby excellence. With 12 hours of rugby per week and regular fixtures, players benefit from outstanding development opportunities. The programme is accessible via a shuttle bus from Wolverhampton Train Station.
Barr’s Hill Sixth Form (Coventry & Warwickshire / Birmingham)
Our exclusive partner across the city and wider area, Barr’s Hill provides a structured rugby programme alongside excellent academic support (Ofsted: Outstanding). Weekly fixtures include opposition from top schools such as Warwick, Bromsgrove, and Rugby School.
