Coventry Rugby is delighted to announce the re-signing of fly-half Pat Pellegrini, ahead of the 2023/24 season.
Pellegrini arrived at the Butts Park Arena from Sevenoaks Rugby Club, competing in London Premier (Nat 3), at the beginning of this season. Previously, back in his native Australia, the fly-half represented Harbour Rugby Club in the Shute Shield competition, as well as gaining caps for New South Wales U20’s and New South Wales schoolboys.
Since arriving in the West Midlands, Pat has quickly become a fan favourite with many memorable performances in a Cov shirt; perhaps none more so than his hat-trick hero display against Doncaster last December, when Coventry ran out eventual 47-7 winners.
Speaking about the decision to re-sign with the club, Pellegrini said “I’m really happy to have signed again. The level of professionalism from the players and coaches drives a high standard every day. They really challenge you to get better each and every day as you come in.
The club really looks after you as a person with nutrition, wellbeing, psychology, all that kind of thing. So yeah, you put two and two together and it’s a good recipe and helps with my consistency at the moment.”
Head Coach Alex Rae is looking forward to seeing the Australian’s influence continue to grow at Butts Park;
“It’s great news that Pat wants to be a part of what we’re building. He’s the best attacking fly half in the league and we’re only just scratching the surface with his potential. If he continues with his desire and attitude to keep developing, he’ll be in a really good place. ”
Everyone at Coventry Rugby is looking forward to seeing Pat continue to excel in the Blue and White for the remainder of the season, and beyond!
