Coventry Rugby Foundation are delighted to announce that Nuneaton Signs has committed to be the shirt sponsor for Coventry Stampede wheelchair rugby team.
Coventry Stampede is Coventry Rugby’s official wheelchair rugby team, supported by Coventry Rugby Foundation.
Speaking at the official launch in Nuneaton Martin Anderson, Sales Director of Nuneaton Signs, said “ As a social enterprise business that offers meaningful employment to people with disabilities, we are delighted to have this opportunity to support Coventry Stampede wheelchair rugby through the shirt sponsorship. At Nuneaton Signs, around 74% of our staff have a physical or learning disability and/or a life impacting mental or medical health condition.
We provide the support to ensure that everyone can contribute to the best of their ability and we help build people’s confidence in their own abilities.
Stampede is a great example of providing opportunity for people with disabilities and we are proud to be able to support Manni and the team. It’s not a sport for the faint hearted and it’s a hugely competitive environment, thrilling to watch. We hope our support will in some small way help the development of the team and help them to further develop and attract more players to try the sport.”
Stampede Head Coach and Team Manager, Mandip Sehmi, brings a wealth of experience to the club, having represented Great Britain at three Paralympic Games and earned three European Championship gold medals during his distinguished career.
Speaking about the new Nuneaton Signs sponsorship, Manni commented “Coventry Stampede is a warm and welcoming environment created for people with physical disabilities to stay active, develop new skills, have fun, and socialise. We are a competitive community club which has great social atmosphere which has been supported by Coventry Rugby Foundation since 2019.
With the build-up to the LA 2028 Paralympic Games underway, interest in the sport continues to grow, and we’re looking forward to welcoming new members into our community. Wheelchair rugby is a mixed-gender team sport suitable for all ages and abilities, offering huge benefits for both physical and mental wellbeing.
