Coventry Rugby is delighted to announce the signing of Lieutenant Dylan Charles Morris, a powerful second row/back row forward, from the British Army Rugby Union. His arrival further strengthens the squad ahead of the new season and continues to build the club’s close relationship with the Armed Forces.

Born on 4 November 1996, Morris has built an impressive rugby CV across both civilian and military competitions. A product of Wimbledon RFC, he was named U18 Surrey Player of the Year in 2015 and went on to represent England Clubs and Counties U18s the same year. His student rugby saw him feature for Cardiff University’s 1st XV in the 2015/16 season, while his Army career has taken him to the highest level of the services game, including the Army Rugby Inter-Services Championship in 2025.

Morris also impressed earlier this year in the prestigious ‘Le Crunch’ fixture between the British and French Armies, where he marked the occasion with a memorable hat-trick.

On joining Coventry, Morris said:

“I’m extremely excited to join such a professional club and very keen to get involved with the fast-paced champagne style of rugby. I’m ready to offer everything I can to help the club have a successful season.”

Head Coach Alex Rae welcomed the addition:

“It’s great to have Dylan join us. He comes highly recommended from Tikki and further strengthens our relationship with the Army. He’s got exactly the right kind of mindset we’re looking for as a person, and we can’t wait to get to know him properly and help him develop in a new environment.”

Morris’s signing reflects Coventry Rugby’s ambition to blend exciting new talent with proven performance, drawing from diverse rugby pathways – including the rich tradition of Armed Forces rugby.
