COVENTRY’S forwards coach, Boris Stankovich will assist his former club Leicester Tigers by providing scrum coaching to the Premiership side on a part-time basis until the end of the season.
Stankovich takes on the role with the full support of Coventry. “Boris is an excellent coach, and this is a great opportunity for him to test himself at a higher level whilst continuing his development at Coventry as forwards coach,” said director of rugby Rowland Winter.
“It grows a link with Tigers, will develop Boris further as a coach, and as it doesn’t conflict with any of our training sessions or match day commitments, it works well for us as well.”
The move comes following the departure from Tigers of director of rugby, Richard Cockerill on Monday.
Stankovich, who joined Coventry as player-coach last summer on a two-year deal, underwent a minor knee operation during the Christmas break.
Coventry have signed 21-year-old second row Josh Peters on dual registration with Northampton Saints for the remainder of the season.
Sidcup-born Peters, 6 feet 7 inches, represented England at under-18 level having previously played for Spain under-17s and 18s.
S|aid Winter: “Josh is a talented player and will keep the competition high amongst our second rows.
“It’s great to have him on board. He is a physical athlete and has been a good addition to the squad since coming to us before Christmas.”
