The Role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Intern to join our medical team for the 2025/26 season. This role provides a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a professional rugby environment, working alongside experienced physiotherapists and medical practitioners.

The role requires compulsory attendance on Monday evenings and Wednesday afternoons, with potential for additional hours based on applicants availability and interests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in injury assessments and rehabilitation plans under the supervision of qualified staff
  • Support with pre-training and pre-match preparation including strapping and taping
  • Maintain accurate treatment records and rehabilitation logs
  • Prepare and manage treatment spaces during training sessions and match days
  • Provide support with pitch-side first aid and injury management at home and away fixtures (as appropriate)
  • Collaborate with the wider medical, strength & conditioning, and coaching teams
  • Promote best practice in injury prevention and player care.

Candidate Requirements

  • Currently studying or recently graduated in Physiotherapy, Sports Therapy, or a related field
  • Sound knowledge of musculoskeletal anatomy and sports injury principles
  • Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends in line with rugby schedules
  • Interest in rugby and understanding of the demands of contact sport
  • First Aid qualification (pitch-side trauma or sports-specific desirable, but not essential)
  • Professional, discreet, and able to maintain confidentiality at all times
