Coventry Rugby is launching the club’s Season Ticket package for 2020/21 with a call for supporters to join a growing community getting behind the team at Butts Park Arena.

With the team rising up the Greene King IPA Championship table the crowds at Butts Park have increased, too, with average attendances around 15 percent higher in 2019/20 than the year before.

Here’s what supporters say:

“Making friends old and new”

“Proud of our historic club”

“Pride in the city and the sport I love”

“Lifelong fans, three generations”

“Legends and the club”

“Family”

“Cov is in my blood and let us hope that it is not too long until we can all come together to cheer our beloved team on again”

By booking a Season Ticket for 2020/21 you can join this community of rugby lovers which flocks to Butts Park on a match day, watching entertaining rugby and meeting the players after the final whistle.

As well as big discounts compared to standard match day prices, a Season Ticket will also get you an invitation to join the squad at two special events during the season, such as a barbeque to kick off the season and Christmas drinks, social distancing permitting!

You will also get priority booking on any home knockout matches and access to an international ticket ballot for England’s home matches at Twickenham.

Prices have been frozen from 2019/20, meaning that this will be the third year of rugby at Butts Park for the same prices!

Renewals can be done in one of two methods – either online (instructions below) or by emailing enquiries@coventryrugby.co.uk. If you are emailing please include a daytime contact phone number and the order number from your Season Card.

The renewal process is also open for supporters who had a Vice President Buffet package in 2019/20 in exactly the same way.

Disabled Season Tickets Holders need to email enquiries@coventryrugby.co.uk with their order number and a daytime phone number for their Season Ticket to be renewed.

Please note that with the majority of Coventry Rugby staff currently furlough and the club offices closed for health reasons we are currently unable to process in-bound phone calls.

This season for the first time we will be giving Early Bird supporters the option of spreading their costs over six direct debit payments via GoCardless. The first payment will be taken on August 5th with the final payment on January 5th. As is standard practice in the sports industry there is a small administration charge of £1 per month. Full details of how to pay by direct debit is at coventryrugby.co.uk/seasontickets – please note that if any direct debit payments are missed/cancelled then the Season Ticket itself will be cancelled. Under-16 tickets must be booked alongside an adult or concession ticket to be paid for via direct debit.

Season Tickets will go on sale in three phases:

PHASE 1 June 18th-July 9th

Renewals only at Early Bird prices. Season Ticket Holders can confirm your current seat or standing place by heading to coventryrugby.co.uk/seasontickets and then entering the barcode from your 2019/20 Season Card into the box before confirming that the information is correct and following the payment process. This is the best way to guarantee the same seat from this season into next season

If you are having any issues with this please email enquiries@coventryrugby.co.uk with a daytime phone number and your order number and barcode number and we will help you with the renewal process!

PHASE 2 July 10th-July 31st

Renewals and general sale at Early Bird prices. All seats not renewed in phase 1 will be available for booking, so the club cannot guarantee that your seat from this season will be available for 2020/21. If you are wishing to move seat for next season then this is the time to do it

PHASE 3 August 1st onwards

Renewals and general sale at standard prices. All seats not booked in either phases 1 and 2 will be available for sales

SEASON TICKET Q+A

What does the season look like?

We are expecting there to be 14 home matches in 2020/21, 11 in the Championship and three in the Championship Cup. Your Season Ticket will include all 14 matches, and will give you priority booking for any home knockout Cup matches

Will there be any pre-season matches?

At present we have no confirmed dates for the 2020/21 season, so cannot confirm any pre-season matches at this stage. We are hopeful that this will change and will make announcements as and when we can

I’m shielding, will I be able to watch matches?

We are pursuing opportunities to live stream all our home matches. The financial implications of central funding cuts from the RFU and the coronavirus means that there will be a small charge per match, with discounted prices per game for a virtual Season Ticket. Details are expected to be completed and announced in the next few weeks

What happens if you have to play any matches behind closed doors in 2020/21?

In the event that Coventry Rugby has to play matches behind closed doors in 2020/21 then there will be a staggered refund policy as follows:

  • If between zero and four matches are played behind closed doors there will be no refund
  • For every additional match played behind closed doors Season Ticket Holders will be entitled to a 10% refund on a sliding scale. For clarity’s sake, if five matches are played behind closed doors the refund will be 10%, if nine matches are played behind closed doors the refund will be 50%, and so on
  • In the event that refunds are payable they will be made following the conclusion of the 2020/21 season
  • Refunds will only be paid related to first team Championship and Championship Cup matches where Coventry Rugby is prohibited from opening to supporters. They will not be paid if a Season Ticket Holder is not able to attend for personal reasons

What happens if you have to restrict capacity due to social distancing?

We are working hard with Future Ticketing on solutions to keep the capacity above the number of Season Ticket Holders while also respecting social distancing guidelines. In the event that this happens announcements will be made on the club’s website

I’m a disabled Season Ticket Holder; how do I renew?

We are unable to take phone calls at the moment, so please email enquiries@coventryrugby.co.uk and include your order number and a daytime phone number and we will call you back!

What about the squad?

We have a squad which we believe will be competitive and are aiming to maintain our place towards the top end of the Championship table, with a similar blend of experience and youth. The RFU central funding cuts and the impact of the coronavirus pandemic means that we will be having a smaller number of players

Can I have the same seat as last year?

Of course. You will be able to guarantee the same seat by renewing in the first three weeks. After that time we expect that your seat will be available, but cannot guarantee it as all seats will be on general sale

What happens if social distancing means we have to spread out in the stands?

The coronavirus lockdown is ever-changing and we will be working within government guidelines at that particular time. In other words, we will have to wait and see how the situation develops and amend our plans accordingly! We will maintain regular communications with all our supporters

What about the four games which were cancelled?

We are giving all Season Ticket Holders from 2019/20 the ability to bring a friend to four additional matches in 2020/21 to make up for the four cancelled matches at the end of last season

How can I book the additional games in lieu of the end of last season?

When the fixture list comes out email enquiries@coventryrugby.co.uk with your name, order number and the matches that you would like to book the additional ticket for. Please note that the home game against Saracens is not included in this number

How can I book for the additional events?

Booking information will be available as part of the overall announcement for the relevant event. Bookings are expected to be available both online and in person at the Coventry Rugby offices

Will you be having food and drink at home games in 2020/21?

The coronavirus lockdown is changing all the time. We will be looking to serve food and drink while also working within the relevant government guidelines at that particular time. Expect the situation to change during the course of the season!
