Coventry Rugby has announced that IDP Group has extended its commitment to the club’s development.
Founded as an architecture practice in Coventry in 1996, IDP Group has grown into an award-winning multi-disciplinary practice which works across architecture, landscape architecture, urban design, project management, research and development, cost consultancy, education and health, and not just in the West Midlands but across the country.
IDP Group is not just a partner to the Coventry Rugby team either, but is also working closely with the club’s management on the strategic development plans which will turn Butts Park Arena into a hub for sport, health and well-being at the heart of the city of Coventry.
2020/21 will see the IDP Group logo on the shoulders of all the Coventry Rugby playing shirts and on the front of the team’s training kit, and the club’s Managing Director Nick Johnston says that he is delighted to be extending the partnership into another season.
“IDP Group has been an outstanding partner to work with since I joined the club,” he commented. “Richard, John and the rest of the IDP team have made a massive contribution, both through the sponsorship funding and their wide range of expertise which has helped us put the pieces in place behind the scenes to achieve our ambitions for Butts Park Arena as a whole.
“It is brilliant news that IDP Group will be continuing its sponsorship into the new season and I’m looking forward to developing our partnership off the field as well.”
IDP Group Directors Richard Kinnersley and Martin Vickery said that it was a straightforward decision to complete a new agreement with the club.
“The club has come a long way in a short time and Coventry Rugby is back on the sporting map,” said Kinnersley. “To see the team develop into one which rivals the best in the Championship and play such entertaining rugby is fantastic, and with Jon [Sharp, Executive Chairman] and Nick leading the way off the field we’ve got no hesitation that the right people are in place to make Butts Park Arena a place the whole city can be proud of.”
“Jon has a vision to make Coventry Rugby a club for the whole community, Nick has a wealth of experience in sport and well-being, and we’re really enjoying helping them achieve their ambitions for the club as a whole and Butts Park Arena as a venue,” Vickery added. “As a Coventry company we’re always happy to help our local teams achieve success and it has been brilliant to have been a part of Coventry Rugby’s growth.”
