Coventry Rugby Club is proud to announce their support for the AfriKids ‘Time to Shine’ Appeal. The younger brother and sister of our own number 8 Adam Peters, Zac and Emma, have, together with some of their friends, designed bespoke, limited edition ‘Time to Shine’ laces that they are selling for £2.50 a pair or £10 for 5 pairs. The money raised from the sale of the laces will help fund education for the poorest children in northern Ghana.

As well as raising the money, Zac and Emma are travelling to northern Ghana with their parents and the charity in the Easter holidays. During their time in Ghana they will be taking part in a different challenge each day, getting stuck into community life and learning more about the brilliant work AfriKids carries out.

Head of Commercial Operations at Coventry Rugby Club Toby Costar said “It is great to see young people like Emma and Zac wanting to make a positive difference to the lives of children who don’t have access to education. As an organisation we are committed to helping improve the lives of people who are less fortunate, whether that is in the city of Coventry or further afield.”

Toby went on to add “With the UK Government agreeing to double any money raised before the 4th March, we hope that all our fellow Championship clubs get involved in this brilliant initiative and help raise as much money as possible for this great project.”

Coventry Rugby Club has backed the initiative by buying laces for every member of the playing squad. When the players run out at Butts Park Arena on the 2nd March against Richmond every pair of boots will be sporting the laces!

If any of you want to purchase laces then you can buy them from our club shop at our next home game against Richmond or if you just want to support Zac and Emma then you can donate via their JustGiving page
