Coventry scored eight tries as they outclassed their visitors to make it maximum points from two National League One games, only letting Moseley in for a try right on the final whistle.
“Moseley looked stronger last week and on the homework we did we expected a real battle and a close game.” said Winter. “I think the scoreline shows the amount of respect we gave them, we didn’t let up because we knew they’d come back at us if we did.
“The only time we slipped really was the last play of the game when they got in for a try, and bar that one dip in concentration it was nearly the perfect day.
“It was 79 minutes of some really good technical work, showing all our skill sets, and we’re really happy.
“”I think we were better than them in most departments. As the game went on our set piece dominance came through, our discipline was good, we didn’t give them too many opportunities to put us back down the pitch, and we took our opportunities when they came.
“Our catch-and-drive is a good weapon for us, Louis Deacon has done a lot of hard work on that, and all of the pack are happy with the ball in their hands and opening up. We created plenty of gaps outside and I thought our backs were really clinical.
“But we’ve got a lot to work on. We are still a bit rusty. Our combinations are still coming together slowly and we’ve got more to come from this group.
“It’s a long season, there are 28 games to go, and we’ve not got anywhere yet.”
And the fans? “The support was outstanding today. The noise they created spurred us on – a couple of times we got a little bit flat and lacked the energy, but the crowd lifted us and kicked us on again.”
