The decision for his departure was by mutual consent of Montague and officials at the club. Montague comments, ‘I wanted the chance to play more regular rugby but I do not have any negative feelings towards the club. I have enjoyed my time at here and wish them all the best’. Montague, 22, has now been signed by his former club, Barker Butts, where he hopes to help them move forward. Director of Rugby, Phil Maynard comments, ‘Sam has been an asset to the team and we thank him for his services to the club’. Montague has been with Coventry RFC for two and a half years and he will be missed. All staff at the club wish him luck and success for the future. Ends.
