Staff at Coventry RFC are delighted to announce that The Charlie Ramsey Research Fund, who we were honoured to have at our Esher Match on 20th September, had a fantastic result. Thank you to Charlie and her family for coming along to meet us all and thank you to the fans who were so generous on the day. Charlie’s mother Sandra has written a letter of thanks to our Chairman, Andrew Green, which we would like to share with all our fans.

Dear Andrew

I would like to express our deepest thanks to everyone involved at the Coventry Rugby Club for the wonderful kindness and support shown to our charity on September 20th.

We collected £750.20 on the day thanks to the generosity of your loyal supporters. This is a wonderful amount and will be used towards research into the condition that Charlie had at birth and effects upto 600 babies each year. Every penny that is paid into our charity is spent on research, we are all volunteers.

I would like to pay special thanks to Lauren Alewood, John Wilkinson and your team captain for having so much time and patience for my little girl ‘Charlie’.

As you may know, there is currently no cure for Charlie’s heart condition, but with the kindness and generosity that you and your club has shown, maybe one day we will find the cure children like Charlie so desperately need.

From all the babies & children born with half a heart, thank you.
