Following a series of meetings, the Rugby Football Union has given Coventry RFC Ltd a further 14 days to fulfil the conditions required to play in National League One next season. Coventry RFC Ltd chairman Andrew Green has to sign an agreement with the Rugby Football Union to satisfy various obligations to enable the club to play, including the continued use of the Butts Park Arena, and Coventry have 14 days in which to raise a sufficient sum of money to provide a bond acceptable to the RFU. Martyn Thomas, the chairman of the RFU Management Board, said: “We have consulted closely with Coventry RFC Ltd and others over several months to try and find a solution that will enable them to play in National League One. “We sincerely hope that the club can meet the conditions laid down and the extra time has been granted because of the progress that has been made in that direction." Andrew Green said: “This has been a very long and drawn out process for all concerned, but alongside the RFU we have been working hard to find a solution. “It has been a frustrating time but what has come to light is that both the RFU and the people of Coventry care about Coventry Rugby and I am sure that a positive conclusion will be reached.” Ends.
