Coventry RFC is sad to say farewell to Hooker Stuart Friswell who had been signed to the Northampton Saints for the fast approaching 2008/9 Season.
Friswell expressed his delight at being picked for the Premiership Club, but is also sad to be saying goodbye to his home club, “It’s great to have finally been given the opportunity to play for a Premiership side and I am going to tackle it head on and give it my absolute all. I’ve had two great years at Coventry, you can’t beat playing to your home crowd and that’s one of the things that I will deeply miss. I really wish Coventry the best of luck for next season; I have no doubt that the team will go from strength to strength in their fight to reach one of those top spots in the National One Division table.” Ends. Friswell has been with Coventry RFC for two seasons now and although the Club will be sorry to see him go, everyone is really pleased that he is making such a positive step in his career. Northampton Saints have gone straight back up to the Premiership Division after spending last season in the National One Division Table. To date, Friswell’s Career has seen him play for Leicester, Plymouth and then a move back to his home City of Coventry.
