Coventry RFC’s Nathan Jones is due to make his début for the England Counties today, against the USA Eagles A team in New York.
“The position that I’m in now after what I’ve been through over the past few years is unbelievable. Touch wood, since I’ve been back I’ve had no problems. I have to do my exercises and manage my diet, but I’m fine with that. Just to get back playing when I was told I would never play again was a massive thing for me. Then to have the year I’ve had at Coventry has been outstanding, and to get the Counties call up and to play in the first game has been tremendous. I suppose all the hard work I’ve put in over the last few years has finally paid off.” Team mate Chris Whitehead starts on the bench for the first game. Best of luck to both of the young players flying the blue and white flag for Coventry. Ends. Press enquiries: Lisa Holberton Coventry RFC Limited

Jones has won himself a place in the starting line up and has proved that there is no holding back of this young Coventry player. After having more than 18 months out due to a back problem, jeopardising his professional career, Jones is over the moon with yet another great achievement.
