Coventry Rugby Football Club has announced the signing of Ian Nimmo on a two year contact. Ian played for Coventry last season on loan from Leicester Tigers and competed in over 45 games for both Coventry and Leicester. Ian plays in the second row and his experience and size make him a formidable addition to the squad. ![]() Ian Nimmo playing against Bedford Ian had left the club to pursue his dream of playing for Scotland; however a move to Edinburgh did not work out. Coventry entered the race to re-sign Ian, and it was Ian’s desire to return to the National Level One club where he enjoyed his rugby last season, that proved decisive. Ian commented “I learnt a lot at Coventry last season and get on very well with the players, coaches and management team. I am very excited by what is going on at Coventry and for the short time I have been away, the club has further improved. It is more professional and I want to be a part of that, I am very much looking forward to playing my part in what should be a great season for the club” Murray Henderson head coach commented “We are thrilled Ian is coming back to Coventry, he was a great player for us last season and worked very hard. He adds a powerful and imposing dimension to the squad. Ian was always popular with the rest of the team and supporters. He embraces exactly what Coventry is about, hard work and commitment. He also understood his commitment to the wider community and gave his own time to the PFS Learning Centre here at the club. We are all looking forward to having him back for a further two seasons.” Ends. Press enquiries: Murray Henderson, Coventry RFC, email: |
