Coventry RFC would like to formally thank the Coventry Telegraph, especially John Wilkinson for their true support of the club in their drive and commitment in raising the bond required by the RFU. Other key figures during this difficult time included John Butler, Peter Rossborough and John Walton, the Telegraph’s nominated trustees of the bond, who along with John worked tirelessly to raise the profile of the bond over the two week period. The passion that each of these individuals has for the club has shone through over the past month, going far beyond the call of duty. |

Coventry RFC is thrilled to announce the decision that the RFU have agreed to allow the Club to continue playing in the National One Division League for the forthcoming 2008/9 Season. The decision has come after two weeks when the Coventry Telegraph stepped in to raise the £100,000 bond that the RFU required for the Club to continue to play at National One Level. Coventry RFC has been overwhelmed by the support shown by fans, supporters and the people of Coventry. The amount raised is a great testament to the loyalty and spirit of all the true Coventry supporters. The commitment shown by supporters, players and staff to keeping Coventry Rugby in Coventry demonstrates the passion each individual feels towards the Club. |

The magnificent amount of £2,046 was raised by kind donations made by shoppers in Lower Precinct. Coventry RFC would like to thank all these people who so kindly donated to the appeal, as well as all the supporters who were there in force to help get the important message across. |
