Coventry RFC is thrilled to announce the decision that the RFU have agreed to allow the Club to continue playing in the National One Division League for the forthcoming 2008/9 Season. The decision has come after two weeks when the Coventry Telegraph stepped in to raise the £100,000 bond that the RFU required for the Club to continue to play at National One Level. Coventry RFC has been overwhelmed by the support shown by fans, supporters and the people of Coventry. The amount raised is a great testament to the loyalty and spirit of all the true Coventry supporters. The commitment shown by supporters, players and staff to keeping Coventry Rugby in Coventry demonstrates the passion each individual feels towards the Club. |

Coventry RFC wish to advise our supporters and sponsors that the decision made today is unlikely to be officially announced by the RFU until midday tomorrow. The players and staff of Coventry RFC continue to fully support the Club and we appreciate your patience in this very difficult time for everyone involved. The response to the Coventry Telegraph's appeal has been overwhelming and the amount raised to date is a testament to the true Coventry spirit. We wish to express our true gratitude to absolutely everyone who has helped and donated over the past two weeks. |

The Coventry Telegraph had an absolutely overwhelming response to their appeal on Saturday, when supporters, players and the OC Colts all teamed up together in the Lower Precinct to raise the awareness of the Coventry Public. The magnificent amount of £2,046 was raised by kind donations made by shoppers in Lower Precinct. Coventry RFC would like to thank all these people who so kindly donated to the appeal, as well as all the supporters who were there in force to help get the important message across. |
