A bit about this weeks experience – OLD COVENTRIANS

Old Coventrians RFC is a very family orientated rugby club based locally on Tile Hill Lane in Coventry. We are now into the second year of being a charity in the form of a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO). The clubs charity aims and current projects can be found on our website.

At Senior level, OC’s will be fielding a 1st XV, The Archers (2nd XV) and a Colts side. Last season the 1st XV gained promotion to Midlands 2 West (South) and we are planning another successful season in 2018-19. We have a strong coaching team responsible for all senior coaching ensuring consistency in the transition from Juniors to Colts to Senior Rugby.

We particularly welcome new adult rugby players of all abilities. Perhaps you have played in the past and fancy a run-out? If so, please contact us and we will be glad to help you with a gentle and enjoyable re-introduction to the game — it’s a great way to keep fit and to show your son or daughter that you can still play! Senior training is on a Tuesday and Thursday from 7pm – 8.30pm

The club also has a very successful Mini and Junior Section with around 200 children registered to play from Under 6 – Under 17. We are a Kids First and RFU Affiliated Club and have a policy of encouraging young players of all abilities, to help develop our up and coming talent as they move through the junior section. New players are always welcome so feel free to come along on a Sunday morning 10.30 – 12 noon & Wednesday evening 6.15-7.30pm.

And for all you Rugby Mums if you fancy giving it a go then our Ladies Touch team are always looking for new players. In addition to the primary sport of rugby football, the club also supports both crown green and flat green bowling.

We are holding a Community Open Day & Start of Season BBQ on Sun 23rd Sept from 1pm, there will be lots to do for the children, so why not come along for a fun afternoon, tag a mate & give rugby a try!
